So glad you could make it to my website.. Thank you for stopping by… Now a little bit about me;
I graduated from the Institute of Technology Tallaght, Dublin in 2005 with distinctions. This only confirmed for me that photography was all I ever wanted to do. Having finished college I set off on an adventure of a lifetime, to mainly concentrate on building up a portfolio of my work. My then 35mm film Canon camera and I found ourselves in the most amazing places in the world.
From staying in a tribal village in a jungle in Chiang Mai (N. Thiland) to the largest sacred temple in the world, at Angkor Wat (Cambodia)… We traveled in style with the locals, from Ho Chi Minh City all the way up to Vietnam’s capital Hanoi. This trip allowed for many stops along the way, one at Nha Trang City where I got to meet world famous photographer Long Thanh. Unfortunately time didn’t allow me to stay a few days, to work with him in his modest B&W traditional dark room, situated at the back of his gallery.
My passion for photography has taken me to other places including Australia and London. The later I got the chance to work in a photo lab, where I trained my eyes to see every color in an image, thus being able to color correct and also being able to correct exposure’s, so that the image could be printed at its best.
Apart from all the travel I also spent 3 years in Dublin working in studio’s. I love studio work and being behind the camera, for me, is the best place in the world. I find that the person who comes into the studio at the start of the day, is never the same person leaving. They put their trust in you and it is your responsibility to build a connection with them, or to do whatever it takes to make them look relaxed in their photographs. With children it is usually easy because they are so open minded. They will give anyone a chance and I find that once you have the general techniques, to get them to do what you would like them to do, it very rarely fails.
Amongst other things I am always very honored when people ask me to capture the most important day of their lives – their Wedding Day!! I really enjoy capturing peoples expressions when they are not aware of the camera as they usually lead to favored shots. I usually try to bring something new to each wedding I do, as opposed to it being a ‘tick the box, I got the shot’ kind of an album!
Photoshop is an area I am very confident in and am continuously teaching myself new tricks in. I have an advanced level of photoshop skills and take great care when post producing images.
Apart from using my digital Canon camera, I also shoot with fun lomography cameras and on traditional 35mm camera’s such as the Pentax superprogram. I think that because of this my work is quite diverse. I have had work exhibited at home in Dublin and also some work published in magazines.
Thanks for taking the time out and looking at my website….
I hope to see you back here again soon
