The technician is talented in his own way. Smart, calculated, tactical. He can execute everything an artist does with precision and even beauty. The technician has good composition, understands lighting, plays the piano correctly. The technician can draw in a straight line.
The artist may be technically good but doesn’t see that as the end goal. Maybe the artist isn’t technically the best at his craft. Maybe he is. His goal is not to be the best technically. His goal is to provoke. He wants to pull an emotion from the audience. He wants to make people feel, and he wants to feel it too.
